Australia has already announced the roster for the World Floorball Championships in Zurich and Winterthur last Sunday. The team from Down Under has a mix of newcomers and players who were already part of Australia’s last WFC participation in Prague 2018.

Australia was the first team to announce its roster for the World Floorball Championships in Switzerland. Among the 20 players called up, there are eleven players who are playing their first WFC, but also some experienced players. The oldest and most experienced player in the team is 34-year-old Gavin Staindl. The WFC 2022 will be his fifth WFC participation. His brother Raymond is also one of the oldest. He took part in 2014 as well as 2018 but had to sit out 2016.

The Staindl brothers are not the only pair of brothers in the team. With Daniel and Tomas Gartner as well as Liam and Edwin Perry, two more brother pairs are in the roster.

Switzerland is no unknown territory for 20-year-old Jamie Doyle. He plays in the local U21 league for Zug United.

Australia had to cancel its participation in the WFC 2020 in Helsinki due to the Corona pandemic. Therefore, the last World Floorball Championships participation was already 4 years ago. Australia finished the WFC 2018 in Prague in 12th place.
