Today, Finland’s head coach Petteri Nykky announced his roster for the World Floorball Championship 2022 in Switzerland. The core of the team has not changed much since Helsinki last December. Nykky relies on proven forces and adds some newcomers.
As the first top nation, Finland has published its roster one month before the WFC in Switzerland. Head coach Petteri Nykky kept the core of last year’s team and also nominated some young players who could establish themselves in the last months. For six players this will be the first time, they compete for Finland in a World Floorball Championship: Eemeli Akola, Aaro Astala, Jesperi Lindfors, Joona Rantala, Konsta Tykkyläinen and the youngest of the team, 22-year-old goalkeeper Oskari Fälden. On the other side, Eemeli Salini has played the most international games (100).
Nykky is convinced that this team has great potential. Last year, Finland was beaten by Sweden in the final in front of its own fans. For this world championship, the goals are again set high and Finland is doing everything to achieve them.
Joonas Pylsy and Otto Lehkosuo are two players who play in Switzerland. Pylsy is already in his third season with SV Wiler-Ersigen, while Otto Lehkosuo joined Köniz this season.
