The Latvian team can count on a good mix between young talents and experienced veterans. The team is led by Artis Raitums, for whom it will already be the ninth WFC.
Latvia is currently in 5th place in the world rankings and thus closest to the top 4 nations. The team has been able to defend this position since the last two World Championships. For the World Floorball Championships in Switzerland, head coach Arto Rihimeki fielded a team that has both enough experience at the international level, but also fresh forces. Among the four World Championship debutants is Daniel’s Janis Anis , who plays for UHC Uster in Switzerland.
Artis Raitums can look back on a particularly high level of routine. This year he will play in his ninth WFC. Since 2006 he has played for Latvia in every WFC and is therefore probably the most experienced player of the whole tournament. Not only his routine speaks for itself: In 46 WFC games he could score 46 points so far and is therefore a safe value for the team.
