Finland vs. Switzerland, 5:3 at the Swiss Life Arena, Zürich

Finland claimed the Bronze medals from the 2022 World Floorball Championship after beating the hosts of Switzerland. However, compared to their performance at the previous World Championship, this is a step back for the Finnish team, as in 2018 they fought for the Gold in the Final match.
On Sunday, the players around head coach Petteri Nykky stormed in the first two periods of the match-up against Switzerland, leading at 4-0 after 20 minutes of play. Switzerland reacted, scoring two times before entering the third period. The hosts almost came back, making their fans at Swiss Life Arena believe in miracles, as Jan Zaugg scored at 50’ for 3:4.
To the Swiss’ disappointment, the Floorball fairytale they longed for didn’t come true – Sami Johansson scored for 5:3 in Finland’s favour at 59’, thus securing the third place for his team.
The Finnish goalkeeper Oskari Falden did an outstanding job during the game – and deservedly was named MVP as Finland finished with 21 saves. For Switzerland, Jan Burki got the recognition of Best Player of his team

Sweden vs. Czech Republic, 9:3 at the Swiss Life Arena, Zürich

The record champs from Sweden down the Czech Republic 9:3 to lift their 10th Men’s World Floorball Championship trophy in front of a frenetic crowd in Zurich, Switzerland.

It was a pure demonstration of power from the Swedish side in the long-awaited gold medal game of the 2022 Men’s Floorball World Championships in front of over 10,000 spectators at the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Swedes stomped into this gold medal game and took a 4:0 lead after the first period. The Swedish goal fest was opened by the Blågult youngster and eventual MVP Malte Lundmark, who celebrated his WFC debut at this year’s edition, after 7 minutes. The Czech, who had brought the record champs to the edge of a defeat in the group stage, were not able to find into their rhythm at all. The Swedish squad, on the other hand, were cold-blooded in front of the Czech goal turning almost every second shot on target into a goal making the Czech pay for every single mistake.

As a consequence, the climax of the #WFC2022 turned into a pure gala for Niklas Norden’s men. In the end, the reigning World Champs from Sweden booked a strong 9:3 win in the gold medal game to add the 10th World Floorball Championships title to their tally
