The Men’s WFC 2022 is also pursuing high goals on the sidelines: The 2022 event is going to be the first climate-neutral World Floorball Championship in history. To achieve this goal, swiss unihockey is working closely with its sustainability partner myclimate.

Benchmark WFC 2018

In order to create a starting position and to recognize energy-saving potential, the CO2 emissions at the previous men’s WFC 2018 in Prague were measured. The WFC 2018 was the biggest and most successful Floorball WFC up to now and set new standards on many levels. In 2022, the aspect of sustainability will be included. Together with myclimate, we defined our sustainability goal, the “Green Goal”, with the results from 2018. By choosing sustainable products, efficient forms of travel to the event, and the right partners, the CO2 emissions should be reduced by over 50% compared to 2018, to a maximum of 3,000 tons. This is an ambitious goal that calls for many creative, innovative and cool ideas and solutions. It is not just about abstention, but also about the mindset of creating added value with the defined starting position. We are convinced that right now, the prerequisites are available so that all of us can accomplish something great together. So, as always, let’s be good sports. Challenge accepted!

Grafik Reduktion CO2

All activities of the WFC 2022 can be assigned to one of five different categories. In particular, our fans can make a great contribution to making this event sustainable and environmentally friendly as far as both travel to the event and food are concerned.
